250 Lives Touched in a Day – Rotary in Action at Egmore

RCG conducted a highly impactful oral cancer screening camp at Southern Railway, Egmore, transforming a simple forenoon into meaningful community service. Led by Rtn. Dr. Elengkumaran, who initiated the project and mobilized a dedicated team of ~25 doctors along with the Oral Screening Bus from SRMC, the initiative screened around 250 beneficiaries including auto drivers, police personnel, railway staff, and the general public.

Rtn. Vasu Venkat ensured seamless on-ground execution by securing permissions, mobilizing beneficiaries, and managing logistics. Identifying an immediate need, the team also donated three wheelchairs to the Station Master, supported by CS Health Director Rtn. Sriraman, Event Chairman Rtn. Vasu Venkat, and Membership Chair Rtn. Madhan R.

The effort saw strong participation from club leaders and members, while prospects Punithan and Thuwarakesh stepped up with valuable contributions, reflecting true Rotary spirit. With efficient arrangements, including a well-organized camp setup, the initiative stands as a successful pilot for the upcoming mega project—donation of an Oral Screening Bus to Karpaga Vinayaga Hospital.

If one day can impact 250 lives, the possibilities ahead are truly transformative.
